- Providing consulting and hardware management services for the solar electric industry in the US, Asia, Caribbean & South America. Services include design, supply chain management, project management, and management of large scale commercial, energy storage, micro grid, photovoltaic, & hybrid electrical power systems. Provides custom manufacturing engineering, project management, system commissioning, & teaching services.
- Taught 3 advanced classes in “PV Design & Installation” at the Solar Living Center in Hopland, CA. http://www.solarliving.org/. These classes were taught for contractors and engineers who want to learn more about the technical and financial aspects of the PV industry.
- Completed as an EPC company the worlds largest solar powered rice drier in California and many large-scale ground mount, C&I, and microgrid installations. Customers include Smuckers, Lundberg family farms, and Bucra rice growers association.

- Responsible to develop and manage all technical designs and studies for a 50MW AC PV system in Bangladesh. Performed site visits, met with bidders, contractors & engineers. Hired staff to help design the system including optional energy storage. Handed over the completed design to the engineering and finance teams.
Azure Power Global Limited (3 GW Portfolio) – New Delhi, India 10/2010 – 8/2018
Senior Vice President, Research and Development, Design & Engineering
- Installed the first 2MW system in India.
- As employee #35, led the engineering and construction departments of the company growing to over 600 people with installations in 20 states within India, with a portfolio of over 3GW.
- Provided and led company’s technical expertise presentations to investment banking community ahead of successful IPO- NYSE listed as AZRE.
- Past responsibilities have included managing and training the Design & Engineering, Construction, Quality, and O&M departments for five of last 7 years.
- Currently managed Azure’s R&D department and tasked to bring new technologically advanced designs in an effort to lower costs for large scale solar farms and microgrids.
- Expert at building and vetting large scale systems through the design and construction of pilot plants through testing and analysis prior to plant construction.
- In addition to current responsibilities, all senior management was invited to an executive manager of one large scale project to which Glen completed a 40MW solar project. With 15 to 40 degree hilltop grades, this was widely considered the most difficult project in the company’s history.
- Largest project completed during tenure by Azure is 100MW.
Solar Electric Specialties 7/91-8/2001
- Was head of Design & Engineering and manufacturing departments to produce hybrid system controllers and systems for the PV and power industry. Manufactured over 3,000 systems for international sales. Managed the day to day operations & head of engineering.
- Principal investigator for a 3-year contract with the Department of Energy, National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL), and Sandia National Laboratories. Developed state of the art, (UL Listed, FM rated), PV standalone battery systems for both residential & commercial use. Collaborated with U.S. A.I.D. to provide large industrial solar systems for 3rd world economic development.
Earthlab Energy Systems 9/1987-6/1991
- Duties included system sizing, designing, construction, & installing large scale remote off grid PV, wind, hydro hybrid systems for remote homes in the local area.
Photron Inc. 5/1985-8/1987
- Was head of production department, managing the construction of complex hybrid PV battery storage systems power systems for US AID, WHO, and 3rd worlds countries. Managed the building of the first containerized systems for international sales.
Sunfrost 3/1980-4/1985
- Co-founded, with scientist Larry Schlussler, the solar-powered refrigerator company Sunfrost. Designed and fabricated the first working prototype of the world’s most efficient refrigerator. Manufactured the first refrigerator to meet the World Health Organization’s specifications for portable vaccine storage in 3rd world countries. www.sunfrost.com
